For Community Services Departments
Programs Tailored to Your Community
You need a program that fits your communities needs. We can tailor our programs to meet your community’s unique requirements. You need a summer session program; an after-school program; a year-round recreational program, or some other offering for your activity calendar — we tailor the program for you. You can offer sessions indoors, outdoors, or any combination of indoor and outdoor activity that meets your needs.
Nationally Certified Training Techniques
Archery looks easy, almost instinctive, until you try it — then; the difficulty of trying to hit a small target using two sticks and a string becomes reality. Throughout the world, individuals and organizations have devoted countless resources to developing effective and efficient ways to introduce the novice and develop world class competitors. Your program benefits from those efforts.
The procedures and techniques, we employ in your program have been developed, approved, and are prescribed by the international governing body for archery (FITA), and the principal United States archery organizations (the National Archery Association and the National Field Archery Association). Under the guidance of our nationally certified and insured instructors, your participants learn through systematic procedures appropriate to their age and experience.
Safety is Priority One
The National Electronic Injury Surveillance System of the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission collects injury incident data from participating hospitals throught the United States. From their data, they have determined that archery is one of the safest sports in the United States.
Archery Solano instruction programs stress safety, safety, and safety. Safety in archery is a matter of common sense, but it is not presumed. Archery Solano incorporates this philosophy and teaches safe practices the primary tenet for new archer orientation. Your participants hear rules explained in a positive, but firm manner. They will hear each rule or procedure as they need to know it and is repeated, as needed, throughout a course of instruction.
Our programs promote safety, success, and self-confidence by starting archers on a short distance 9-meter (10-yard) range with low height targets and without keeping score. Initially using shorter distances provides an appropriate challenge for the beginning archer; requires less space; and, promotes program safety by minimizing long-range ballistics while building a skill base.
Achievement Oriented
When you host our programs, you provide the novice archer a safe introduction to recreational target archery in a non-competitive environment. You will offer, as an integral part of most programs, participation in the United States Archery Association Junior Olympic Achievement Development (JOAD) program. The JOAD program provides national recognition for individual achievement through a 10-tier ranking system. The student's 30-arrow score at each session determines their JOAD rank; and, as their skill and score improves, we celebrate their progress with certificates of achievement. You offer challenge, achievement, and recognition — the building blocks of self confidence.
High Quality Equipment
You want a program that provides the safety and performance benefits of quality equipment — we supply it all. Archery, like all sports, requires an investment in equipment — bows, bow strings, arrows, arm guards, finger tabs, sights, quivers, targets, target butts, and when required safety nets, warning barriers or notices, and floor protection. You are not burdeded with equipment acquisition and maintenance expenses.
You access high quality, modern, take-down recurve bows and the revolutionary, new generation of compound bows, both specifically designed for the novice archer. These bows, unlike one-piece fiberglass bows, have interchangeable parts or adjustability that allows us to properly fit the bow to your archer. Preferred by many camps, schools, Boy Scout and 4-H groups, and integral to the National Archery in the Schools Program, they are the best quality available.
Arrows supplied to your program are high quality fiberglass, aluminum, and carbon arrows, eliminating the potential problems of splinters and broken shafts common to wooden arrows. This is not "Toys-R-Us" equipment -- All equipment meets the highest standards of the archery industry.
You get the right equipment and the safest equipment for your smallest and largest archer and everyone in between.
